There are objects in the world that stop being fashion and become something else. An act of craft so complete, so rooted in a specific place and a specific material and a specific human intention, that wearing them feels less like getting dressed and more like carrying a piece of the world with you. The Escamas Gown is one of those objects.
Floor-length organza, light, transparent, structured, serves as the ground for what makes this dress unlike anything else in existence: thousands of real camurupim fish scales, hand-applied one by one across the entire surface of the gown. Each scale was carefully harvested and treated on the northeastern coast of Brazil, sourced from responsible and sustainable fishing practices that honor the ocean and the communities that live by it. In natural light, they are translucent and warm, like mother-of-pearl that grew in the sea rather than a workshop. In evening light, they catch and release luminosity with every breath, every step, every slight shift of the body, making the dress appear to move even when you are standing perfectly still.
The construction beneath the scales is as considered as the scales themselves. A clean, straight neckline with frayed organza trim at the edge, raw and precise at the same time. Delicate tie straps that frame the shoulder with a fragility that makes the whole gown feel like something between clothing and jewelry. An elastic back trim that provides structure and support without interrupting the draped back neckline, a deep, considered opening that reveals the back as a second composition, fluid and architectural at once.
Because each scale is a natural material, no two dresses are identical. Small variations in color, translucency, and texture between scales are not imperfections. They are the signature, the proof that a human hand made this, from something the sea provided, for a woman who understands that the most extraordinary luxury is always the one that could only have come from exactly this place.
